New Versions 6.51.00 and 7.51.00 (posted 27-Nov-07) Now Shipping
It is highly recommended that all current 6.5 and 7.5 clients install the new 6.51 and 7.51
updates. We have done a *lot* of work on your reported issues and the DWG/DXF
import and export has been significantly improved, and many bugs have been fixed in
both the 6.5 and 7.5 versions. We consider this version to be highly stable.
We have spent the last 18 months writing these new versions of our products,
which includes extensive new DWG/DXF support, including support for all
versions through ACAD 2008, as well as many customer-requested enhancements.
Discussions with many of our customers has given us a clear understanding
that we need to provide active support and availability for both version 6
and version 7 products. Some customers depend on plug-ins that are only available for
v6, or have a large investment in customization for v6. For this reason we
once again offer for sale new licenses for version 6.5 of both FastCAD
and EasyCAD, with the added ability to download full installs at any time,
greatly simplifying system maintenance.
We do recommend v7 for most customers, as it's double-precision framework
provides greater accuracy, especially when dealing with data that originated
in DWG or DXF files.
The files produced by both new versions are backward-compatible with older versions:
Files written by 7.5 products can be read and modified by older v7 products, and
files written by 6.5 can be read and modified by older v6 prodcuts. No breaking changes
have been introduced. In addition, the new v7.5 supports exporting to v6 FCW files.
A new center-button direct pan/wheel zoom tool has been added that will zoom in about the
point the mouse is over, speeding navigation about a drawing. For those who prefer
the older DYNPAN method, an option is provided to select either mode.
The new full installs now include the symbol catalogs formerly available only on the
backup CDs. We include them in the full install downloads now because the internet bandwidth
situation has improved greatly over the years.
Major changes have been made to the help files, including modifications for Vista compatibility,
and the inclusion of tips and hints for working with Vista.

Free 7.22.01 update for owners of older version 7 products
These updates apply to versions 7.22 and earlier only. An update license
purchase is required to update to version 7.5 products.
Current FastCAD and EasyCAD V7 owners can get their free update to version
7.22.01 online. This update allows the import of ACAD 2004+ DWG and DXF
files, and sets the default cursor tracking tooltip off.
It is recommended that all v7 users install
this free update.

Free 6.16 update for owners of version 6 products
These updates apply to versions 6.15 and earlier only. An update license
purchase is required to update to version 6.5 products.
Current V6 owners can get their free update to version
6.16 online. We still accept new V6 orders as a service
for those customers who use older 3rd-party add-in products
with V6, although we recommend the current version 7
for new purchases.
Current FastCAD and EasyCAD V6 owners can get their free update to version
6.16.00 (posted 5-Apr-06) online. This update fixes problems with dialog
entry of decimal and unit values (foot/inch, cm, etc.) as well as several
smaller bugs, and adds a current sheet status bar display.
It is recommended that all v6 users install this free update.
